7:20 - 9:50 pm Bosco Tran - “Trading through Turbulence: Position Sizing Matters “
Presentation topics will include:
- Traders often search for the holy grail of entry and exit strategies, yet position sizing is frequently underestimated.
- This presentation examines how different sizing approaches impact trading performance, risk, and long-term survival on the same systems.
- Drawing on a structured study across varying risk levels and models, the session demonstrates that, using the same trading system, average returns can vary from 11.2% to 40.8% per annum over five-year period & maximum drawdowns can vary from 8.9% to 34.8% depending on position sizing parameters used.
- These findings highlight how sizing decisions can significantly influence outcomes through their effect on capital deployment and risk. Attendees will gain practical insights into allocating capital more effectively and improving overall trading performance
Bosco Tran
Bosco is a private trader since 1994 and a long-standing ATAA member. He conducts independent research and manages his SMSF and family trust. Retired from engineering management at ASC, his qualifications include a Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering (Honours) and a Master of Business Administration.
