Understanding Financial Markets as Complex Adaptive Systems – Alan Hull (Video)
Alan has given a practical and thought-provoking presentation covering how elements of systems theory, chaos theory and fractal theory apply to the markets. Tonight’s meeting is a replay of this video as originally presented to the Melbourne Chapter in 2025.
The presentation stimulates ideas and confirmation that may assist and shape your trading in rules-based trading, wave theory and trend and market analysis. At the conclusion of the video, we can discuss the application of some of the ideas to trading market volatility in the current market.
Biography – Alan Hull
Alan is the author of Active Investing and Trade my Way and the creator of the Hull Moving Average.
Alan is a systems-based trader using mathematical, rule-based rotation strategies that focus on reducing noise in medium term trading. The presentation includes many chart based examples of concepts explained.
