Presentation - Trading Crypto Systematically in RealTest

In this session Alan Clement and Adrian Reid will share insights from porting a full suite of crypto systems out of Amibroker and into RealTest: data from multiple exchanges, working backtest scripts, and a tool that automates orders directly with the major exchanges.

You will see how to get clean crypto data from multiple exchanges into RealTest and deal with crypto-specific decentralised data problems such as short data history, liquidity variations, and token listing / delisting. The session will also discuss how the edges you already trade in equities can be translated to crypto, along with a simple Bitcoin system with code to get you started.

Finally, we will explore the part nobody warns you about: the difficulty of trading a 24/7 market on daily bars, and why automating is essential in this market. If you trade RealTest and you are curious about crypto, this is the practical, no-hype walkthrough to attend. You will leave ready to test your first crypto system this weekend, and every attendee gets the free data downloader developed for multiple crypto exchanges.

Speakers

Adrian Reid is a full-time private trader and the Founder of Enlightened Stock Trading, where he empowers logical, analytical thinkers to master the art of systematic trading. With over 20 years of experience, Adrian has developed and traded systems that consistently outperform global markets with dramatically lower risk—using just 30 minutes a day. Adrian left the corporate world in 2012 to focus full-time on trading and mentoring.

He now helps traders who are tired of uncertainty and guesswork to build profitable, automated portfolios that generate consistent returns, no matter the market conditions. Through The Trader Success System, Adrian guides traders to quickly set up a diversified portfolio of fully automated trading systems within just six months—enabling them to trade across multiple international markets (including the US, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, and UK markets) with confidence and clarity.

He provides 25+ trading systems and teaches a step-by-step framework for traders to create, backtest, and deploy their own systems, eliminating emotional decisions and replacing them with data-driven results. Adrian’s mission is simple: to help traders quickly get up and running with a stable, profitable portfolio that grows wealth systematically, providing freedom and control without the stress of traditional approaches.

Alan Clement is a trading strategy designer and independent trader with over 30 years of experience in the financial industry. Following a successful professional career in both investment management and investment banking, he now manages his own independent trading business. He is also an international speaker on evidence-based trading approaches.

His main focus is the design and development of quantitative trading strategies that trade multiple markets, along with the full end-to-end automation of order management and trade execution. Alan is an IFTA Certified Financial Technician (CFTe) and National Director of the Australian Technical Analysts Association.

The meeting will be chaired by Chris Meakin.
