A Technique on trading IPO’s – Gabriel Spacca
With the recent SpaceX listing and expected AI company listings, there's been a renewed interest in how to trade IPOs. IPOs are usually the purview of Fundamental Analysis. But how do we as Technical Analysts trade an IPO.
Gabriel will present one technique. This is a technique learnt from Darryl Guppy in a 2009 Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodities magazine article. This technique is based on Darryl Guppy's count back line.
Gabriel will present the theory, then will show some examples on how the technique would have worked out in recent IPOs. He will also show some variations on the technique for consideration.
Biography – Gabriel Spacca
Gabriel has been a technical trader since the early 1990s and became an ATAA member not long after. Gabriel has previously presented on his FX trading style and trading with Fibonacci. Gabriel currently runs the Canberra Chapter portfolio competition and uses a variety of analysis techniques in his trading.
